Part time study week

Summer Study Week

Sunday 28 July to Sunday 4 August 2024

Our Summer Study Week provides a unique opportunity for part-time students to study, relax and enjoy the benefits of Cambridge.

Part time study week

Part-time study at Cambridge is a wonderful opportunity – but we know it can be challenging to make time for academic work when life is crammed with work and other commitments. At the 鶹ӾSummer Study Week, you’ll be able to take some time out to concentrate on your research whilst enjoying the benefits of College life.

What’s on offer?

This year we have a great programme designed to support you in your research and writing, as well as offering opportunities for relaxation and meeting other members of the College.

Following the huge success of 鶹ӾLibrarys Writing Retreat Weekend, this year were kick-starting the week with a one-day, mini-writing retreat, led by Alberto Garcia Jr, our Academic Skills Librarian. Also on offer will be some of the ever-popular Write Here, Write Now, sessions, and opportunities for 1–1 or small group workshops tackling specific skills such as literature searching and referencing.

Also on offer during the week:

  • Welcome picnic (Sunday 28th)
  • Formal Hall (Tuesday 30th)
  • Yoga session
  • Sound therapy session
  • Panel session with part-timer alumni
  • Tour of 鶹ӾGardens with Head Gardener
  • Walking tour of Cambridge centre
  • Daily Study Week Lunch Table with part-time tutors and other members of staff
  • Walk to Grantchester for tea in the Orchard

During your stay in College, you can of course enjoy use of the gym, our lovely peaceful gardens, and local countryside walking routes.

Students whove come for Study Week always tell us that it has been an invaluable part of their time at Cambridge:

“This week has been a real eye-opener – youll be seeing considerably more of us from now on!!”

"It was just great to spend some time at the College outside of the residential study weeks.”

This week has inspired me. I see my research as part of the work of the university and myself as a member of the College.”

“We met some great new connections amongst other cohorts, and those working on PhDs.”
