Women of Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç- Ghina Halabi

The first person to receive a PhD in her subject from a Lebanese university, astrophysicist Dr Ghina Halabi is sharing stories of the stars, and encouraging women to pursue careers in STEM.

Dr Ghina Halabi has a busy schedule - just this week she participated in a panel discussion with Professor Jane Clarke at the Mill Lane Lecture Halls on Panel Discussion - 'Rationality, Science and Equal Representation'. She will be giving a talk on 20 March as part of the Cambridge Science Festival on  . And she'll also be giving a keynote at the upcoming Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çResearch Event, 'Shining brightest in your constellation'.

Through her website, , Ghina is raising the visibility of women in STEM by making science accessible and engaging with storytelling, and she is part of the UN Space for Women project. She will shortly be heading for Jordan to speak at the United Nations/Jordan conference  in Amman later this month. 

Ghina was in the University's special publication for International Women's Day, where you can read more about her work and her passion for communicating science through storytelling.
