This year, Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 15-21 May and has a theme of ‘anxiety’. We've put together a programme of wellbeing activities aimed at supporting mental health and giving you the opportunity to take some time for yourself during this busy term.
The wellbeing programme is open to all College members: take a look at what's on offer during the week and book your place at any of our free events.
Yoga with James Downs
Join Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çalumnus and yoga teacher James Downs for an uplifting and accessible yoga practice, offering a moment of balance during the busy Easter term.
Suitable for those with all levels of experience, including beginners, you will be guided through a range of movements to stretch, strengthen, and release tension in the body.
Monday 15 May, 11.00 - 12.00
Thursday 18 May, 14.00 - 15.00
Both sessions will take place in the Sundial Garden (or the Seminar Room in case of wet weather).
Dress comfortably and please bring along a yoga mat if you have one, however this is not essential.

Creative Writing with Visiting Fellow Bryan Hurt
Express your thoughts and feelings in a writing session led by author and Visiting Fellow, Bryan Hurt.
Covering the fundamentals like plot, character, setting, point of view, and voice - for beginners and beginners at heart. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to experiment and grow.
Monday 15 May, 17.00 - 18.00
This session will take place in Syndicate Room 4, Chancellor's Centre, and is part of a weekly series on offer for the remainder of term.
No booking required.
Plant Pot Painting with Head Gardener Oscar Holgate
Express your creativity at this relaxing afternoon workshop, where you will have the opportunity to decorate your very own terracotta plant pot.
Don't worry if you have never picked up a paint brush before - this is a beginner-friendly activity and all levels of painting skills are welcome.
Tuesday 16 May, 14.00 - 15.00
The session will take place in the Sundial Garden (or the Seminar Room in case of wet weather).
All materials will be provided, including a small house plant for you to take home in your decorated pot.

Creative Poetry Workshop with Debbie Pullinger and Caroline Banerjee
Writing poetry, playing with words: it's a great way to take some time out and find some clarity.
With the emphasis on fun and experimentation, we will use a variety of exercises and writing techniques to start our own pieces. If you’ve never written a poem before, that’s fine! And you won’t have to share anything aloud unless you want to.
