Stacey writes: "Compelled by an odd curiosity I entered my first Powerlifting competition a few months ago. After just one month of training – which mainly comprised trying to avoid decapitation or falling over with a loaded barbell (!) – you can imagine my expectations weren’t very high. However, I was fortunate enough to compete with six other (very strong!) women in CUPLC’s first full women’s team. We finished in the top 5 of all UK Universities, which qualifies us for the World University Championships to be held this year in July in South Africa! We’re obviously all extremely excited, but need to raise money (it'll cost around Â£1500 each) in order to compete. Please help us by spreading the word and donating to our  if you can."

As you can see above Stacey is also a keen rower and was instrumental for the Women's second boat last year, winning blades with them.
