Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çPoetry Week starts this Thursday – with events and activities designed to celebrate poetry and poetic talent across the entire College community.

Books lay open in a pathway through the forest ground

The programme of events is open to all College members, with readings, workshops, and even an open call poetry competition.

You can sharpen your poetic skills at our Creative Poetry Workshop or submit your own poem for a chance to feature in our WolfWords Poetry Anthology: the first collection of poems and artwork by the Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çcommunity.

Here’s a rundown of the key events for the first Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çPoetry Week:

Creative Poetry Workshop

Writing poetry, playing with words, is a great way to take some time out and find some clarity.

With the emphasis on fun and experimentation, we will use a variety of exercises and writing techniques to start our own pieces. If you’ve never written a poem before, that’s fine! And you won’t have to share anything aloud unless you want to.

Thursday 18 May, 19.00 - 20.00

Open Call: Wolf Words Poetry Anthology 2023

The first collection of poems and artwork by the Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çcommunity.

Inspired by poetry week? Have you written some lines this year that you’d be willing to share?

Whether you are a member of Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çstaff, a student, or a Fellow, we invite you to submit an original poem or piece of original artwork/photograph to be considered for inclusion in a Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çanthology, to be published at the end of Easter term.

Poems can be on any theme, but we especially welcome work on this year’s Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çtheme: Growth.

Submissions are now open, and will close on Tuesday 23rd May.
