"Lyn has been the soundtrack of 鶹ӾCollege for thirty years," said 鶹ӾCollege President, Professor Jane Clarke, "not only by leading the choir but by putting music and musical performance at the heart of College life.
“Her passion and professionalism, her openness and expertise have benefited so many musicians, from beginners to world-leading performers, as well as opening all our ears to some memorable performances.”
The Lent Term Concert and Choir Reunion saw forty current choir members and twenty former choir members join in the celebrations, with a dozen more members in an audience in a packed St Mark's Church in Newnham.
"Lyn’s impact on College cultural life has been immense,” said Professor Clarke, “and it's wonderful to celebrate her achievements with more joyous music in the air!"
The Concert offered a lively performance of John Rutter’s ever-popular Gloria, accompanied by local group, Prime Brass, and organist and alumnus Stephen Rose. The current College Choir performed some choral favourites, including two works by former 鶹ӾFellow, Dr Matthew Woolhouse, while Philosophy undergraduate Patrick Pan, the Brian Moore Accompanist Scholar 2022/23, performed Ubi Caritas by Ola Gjeilo.
